40th Anniversary Celebration

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary with friends at the Detroit Zoo
during which
Bev, Marcy, Belen and I entered the PENGUINARIUM!
We met some new friend's - Macaroni's and Rock Hopper's.

They have beautiful white chests and pink feet!

The penguins enjoy being hand fed and are not afraid of us!

Striking a pose for the camera!

Izzo was being picky about his fish.

There are about 60 penguins at the Detroit Zoo with
just a couple of new ones this year.

Some are starting to molt and their new down feathers are very white and soft.
Some were really friendly and some let us pet them.

They have a honk-like sound that was amazingly quite loud.

They eat sardines, herring and krill and we smelled like that
after our experience!

Bev is surrounded by hungry penguins while one helps himself!
What a great experience and fun way to celebrate an anniversary,
thanks to Zoo Ambassador Jay!
