Smoky Mountains - Day 3

Our trip from Gatlinburg to Cade's Cove and back.

Dave tells Marianne how to navigate a kayak downriver.

Meadow in front of John Oliver's Ranch.

Found a copper color skink here!

House has 3000 wood shingles.

Stone Fireplace for cooking and warming the house.

Backyard view - couldn't find the outhouse!

Appalachians are an old yet plush mountain chain.

Across another meadow.

Cades Coves is in a valley sourrounded by the Applachian Mountains.

Water falls leading to Laurel Creek which parallels the road.

Rapids of Laurel Creek; saw fly fishermen in some spots.

Lots of Hemlock trees even though many have a damaging bore.
